Great to see you here!

I'm Sarah, a highly experienced linguist, language educator, translator, teacher trainer and academic manager who has been in the language business for over 18 years.

Though my experience and expertise, I help people find their voice and make meaningful connections English.

Because it isn't easy to learn a new language and use it with confidence.

Because we all want to sound natural when communicating with others.

Because we would all like our words to resonate with those we share them with.

My journey

I grew up in Nottingham in the U.K. and moved abroad for the first time in 2006. Since then I have lived more than 10 years in Spain, mostly in Seville, and over 6 years in France, mainly in the Jura region where I am currently based. These years abroad have allowed me to fully immerse myself in the language and culture of both countries.

Thanks to this complete immersion, alongside the solid personal and professional connections I have made along the way, I feel I can easily call all three countries my home.

And I think it's safe to say that this makes me especially fluent, lingustically and culturally, in French, Spanish, and English (my mother tongue).

A curious, slow traveller

I love to travel and discover new places, and it's a great way to stay connected with what's going on in French, Spanish and English, especially as I can take my work with me on the road.

But rather than on a plane jetting off to the other side of the globe, when I'm not working you're more likely to find me hiking or in our van visiting all the hidden gems Europe has to offer.

Meeting the locals and fellow travellers, listening to their stories, learning about the history of the area and exploring what nature has to offer is more my thing. Find me a crag to climb, a museum to visit, water to swim in, or a cycle route in nature and I'll be there!

Making connections with the people and the area I find myself in is essential for me, and what better way to do that than by travelling slowly and consciously?

Active, creative, and

environmentally conscious

I climb, I hike, I cycle, I do yoga and Thai Chi, I used to row on the Guadalquivir river while living in Seville, I was a member of the Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County netball teams as a teenager, and I've even played Kwik Cricket at Nottingham Trent Bridge cricket ground.

I could go on, but needless to say I'm a very active person and have been involved in sports since a very young age. As a spectator, be it the Olympics, the Rugby Union Six Nations or World Cup, the Oxford-Cambridge regatta, the Tour de France or even the darts, my interest is genuine and wide-ranging.

When I'm not moving about or watching a match, I can be quite creative and I like to knit, draw, make cakes and I can be quite handy with a pair of scissors and some card! I'm a keen reader, a lot of non-fiction but some novels too, and enjoy watching films, series, and documentaries for my ever curious side.

I have participated in a number of different eco-constuction projects including straw-bale building, geodesic domes and creating light bamboo structures, combining my interest in sustainable living and collaborating with others on a diverse range of projects while using my language skills to help people make connections.

All this inevitably feeds into my translation and teaching work, and what better way to work than with your hobbies and interests?
